Weddings in Tuscany are always a pleasure to photograph and are so typical of my job as a wedding photographer in Italy.
On the outskirts of Radda in Chianti, Tuscany, this villa was the setting for the wedding ceremony and then the reception afterwards.
Full of personal touches it was a pleasure to photograph this wedding. The couple chose this location for their wedding because they actually got engaged here the year before, in the exact spot of the photograph below in fact. You can't get more personal than that!
The villa was split into several parts which meant that the bride could get married well away from the groom.
And just outside the door to the brides bedroom the wedding guests were taking their seats waiting for her arrival.
The wedding ceremony was outside, under the shade from the sun. One of the great things about weddings in Italy is this opportunity to hold the ceremony outside.
And of course it's great to photograph weddings in Italy for the same reason.
The ceremony was full of personal details from the singer who was a family friend to the celebrant who was the brides father!
It was a lovely intimate ceremony with the couple writing and reading their own vows.
May is a perfect time for a wedding in Tuscany, the heat wasn't too much for the guys in their suits!
After the wedding ceremony it was time for a quick drink,
before we took a few pictures around the grounds of the villa.
Now this was only the beginning as the couple and their parents made their way into Radda for the official ceremony and the signing of the register.
Which afterwards gave us the chance to get some shots of the couple around Radda.
Radda is an exquisite hill top town in Tuscany and in just a shot space of time we covered several distinct locations to get their wedding photographs.
Within the hour we were back at the villa to enjoy the rest of the day with the other wedding guests.
As you can see the location and set up was just perfect.
And after the meal and speeches it was time for a group hug,
and then the wedding cake!
