Tuscany Wedding in Dicomano.

As the 2012 wedding season was coming to a close for me this was a great job to get at the end of the summer. Fantastic locations to photograph in Tuscany coupled with a great group of people made for a fun day of wedding photography.

The day started at Fattoria il Lago, just outside Florence  Among the vineyards our couple stayed in the traditional Tuscan farmhouse apartments.

And from there they made the short journey to the church in Sandetole where the wedding service was held. It was a stormy day but fortunately the weather stayed dry for the arrival of the bride.

Inside the church, which is attached to the local convent, the flower girls paved the way for the arrival of the bride.

Our couple were married in a traditional Catholic wedding service. With the vows taken in front of family and friends in a lovely intimate atmosphere.

With a small group it meant that I had lots of opportunities to photograph all the little moments that make it such fun to photograph weddings.

And for the most important people it clearly was an unforgettable day.

After the service our couple were greeted not by confetti but by bubbles and by their reaction it was a nice surprise for them!

These few minutes after the service are when I always need to be on my toes when all the guests want to congratulate the bride and groom. It's always a tricky time to get a good shot of the bride and groom but these shots have a nice dynamic to them with all the hustle and bustle of the day.

And what a car to be driving yourself back from your wedding in! Clearly was one of the grooms favorite moments of the day.

And back a Fattoria Il Lago the storm clouds were still gathering. Maybe not quite the blue skies we had in mind but it made for some dramatic photographs.

The Fattoria is still a working vineyard with grapes having been cultivated on the land for many centuries.

Below is a shot we got by the outdoor swimming pool, a great view but not a day for a post wedding swim!

And finally the sun peeped through for a few minutes which meant we had some nice light to get some portrait photographs before we finished.

Tuscany wedding in Chianti.

Back in Tuscany again for another September wedding and this was another beautiful and unique day for everyone. Wedding photography in Italy is easy on days like this!

The day started with the brides preparations at the villa, with the large rooms and beautiful antique furniture we managed to get lots of great shots here.

And while the girls finished getting ready the groom and his best man were at the ceremony location in San Donato making the last preparations.

San Donato in Tuscany is a very typical Tuscan old town set up in the hills with winding streets and little bars where the wedding guests could congregate and have a drink together before the ceremony.

And what could be more Italian than a Vespa!

Once the guests were all in place in the Piazza the bridal party made their entrance.

The ceremony was held in the doors of the town hall so all the guests could sit outside in the fantastic weather while the bride and groom took centre stage in front of them.

This worked out really well for me as it mean't I could photograph discreetly from inside the town hall doorway but still be close enough to pick out all the small details of the moment.

The ceremony was very personal to the couple with their own vows and little touches.

And then afterwards while the guests made their way back to the villa we had a few minutes to wander a few of the back streets and get some nice intimate photographs.

Being around lunchtime meant that all was quiet in the town and we could find plenty of empty streets to photograph in.

And finally we got some nice natural shots as they made their way back to the wedding car.

Back at the villa and once everyone had some time to chat with the bride and groom we went off to get some shots that really showed off the beauty of the Tuscan countryside.

And coming in autumn meant that we were getting some fantastic colours as a backdrop.

Below was one shot the bride and groom were really keen to get when we did a walk around the day before to choose the photography locations.

And to finish we took a look wander into the vines,

and into the olive trees.

Drinks were served outside so that the wedding party could enjoy the sunset.

And as the evening drew in the wedding guests headed inside for the wedding breakfast.

Afterwards we were back outside for the cutting of the cake and the tossing of the bouquet.

This was a really enjoyable days work for me, some great locations to photograph in Tuscany and a wedding  couple that were a pleasure to work with.

Wedding Photography in Tuscany, Tuscan Wedding in Cortona Pt2

This is the second part of the Tuscan wedding in Cortona that I covered this September.

After the ceremony we made our way to the bottom of the steps to await the bride and groom. Having everyone in one place turned out to be a good chance to get a nice informal group picture.

And whilst the guests made their way back to the villa we took a few moments to wander the little medieval streets of Cortona and get some shots of the couple on their own.

We'd taken some time previously to find some quiet little spots away from the crowds so that we could take this photographs nice and quickly so that the couple could get back to their guests as soon as possible.

And although our couple were keen to get back to the villa, by stopping and having this short photo session it gave them a nice natural break in the day to take it all in.

Cortona is a typical Tuscan hilltop town and of course that means lots of steps, great for photographs but hard work in a wedding dress!

But it's worth the hike to get to this lovely spot where the light was falling through the trees just perfectly for these photographs.

On our way back down we stopped off in these arches just to get a different perspective.

And in less than 15 minutes we've managed to find lots of different angles and backdrops to make for some memorable photographs.

After that we headed back to the villa where our couple could enjoy the rest of their day.

The gardens had been beautifully laid out and the villa had done a fantastic job of setting the scene perfectly.

September in Tuscany makes for some glorious weather and the afternoon was fantastic for sitting around by the pool and spending some time together.

I don't usually put group photographs into these blogs but since this is the only one I've taken with the bride dipping her toes in the pool I thought it was worth including!

And after the wedding breakfast the speeches rounded the day off.

And since the groom had two best men he had put up with twice as much teasing!
